Invisible Secrets 4 User Guide


Encrypt Files:

  • There are 2 methods to encrypt a file using Invisible Secrets.
  • Method 1:

1.1 Open Invisible Secrets.

1.2 Select Encrypt Files from the main page.

1.3 Select the files and folders you want to encrypt - to do this use Add Files / Add Folders or Add Files From Cryptboard buttons - and click Next button when you are done.

1.4 Choose the Password for the encryption (type the password and then retype it to confirm) and the Encryption Algorithm.

1.5 Click Encrypt button to start the encryption process.
1.6 You are done! Click Finish to close the window.

  • Method 2:

2.1 Right click on the file(s) or folder(s) you want to encrypt and from the Invisible Secrets menu choose Encrypt.

2.2 Choose the Password for encryption (type and retype password to confirm it) and then select the Encryption Algorithm.

2.3 Click Encrypt button to start the encryption process.

Important: Do not forget the password. For security reasons Invisible Secrets 4 has no backdoors. If you forget the password the files are lost forever.


Decrypt Files:

  • There are 2 methods to decrypt a file using Invisible Secrets.
  • Method 1:

1.1 Open Invisible Secrets.

1.2 Select Decrypt Files from the main page.

1.3 Select the files and folders you want to decrypt - to do this use Add Files / Add Folders or Add Files From Cryptboard buttons - and click Next button when you are done.

1.4 Insert the Password for the decryption and select the Decryption Algorithm.

Note: The password and the decryption algorithm must be the same used at encryption!
Click Decrypt button to start the decryption process.

1.5 You are done! Click Finish to close the window.

  • Method 2:

2.1 Right click on the file(s) or folder(s) you want to decrypt and from the Invisible Secrets menu choose Decrypt. If the encrypted file has the .isc extension (default extension for the encrypted files), then you can simply double-click it

2.2 Insert the Password for decryption and then select the Decryption Algorithm.

Note: The password and the decryption algorithm must be the same used at encryption! Click Decrypt button to start the decryption process.


Hide Files:

  • There are 2 methods to hide a file using Invisible Secrets.
  • Method 1:

1.1 Open Invisible Secrets.

1.2 Select Hide Files from the main page.

1.3 Select the files you want to hide - to do this use Add Files or Add Files From Cryptboard buttons. You can also create Fake Files to divert your opponents. Click New Message to create a new document, where you can type your message. Click Next button when you are done.

1.4 Select the Carrier file (and the carrier type the program didn't recognize it well) and click Next button when you are done. You can search you hard-disks for carrier by clicking the Search For Carrier button.

1.5 Choose the Password for encryption (type the password and then retype it to confirm) and the Encryption Algorithm. If you do not want to encrypt the file before hiding, check Skip Encryption/Hide Only. Click Next when you are done.

1.6 Choose the path and the name for the new file - the new carrier file which will contain the hidden files.

1.7 Click Hide button to start the hiding process.

(Tip: when the hiding process has completed click Next button and choose what to do with the resulted file: explore the folder where it was saved, review the new carrier file, send it by email or copy the carrier to a server using an FTP connection.)

1.8 You are done! Click Finish to close the window.

  • Method 2:

2.1 Right click on the file(s) you want to hide and from Invisible Secrets menu choose Hide.

2.2 Select the Carrier file (and the carrier type the program didn't recognize it well) and click Next button when you are done. You can search you hard-disks for carrier by clicking the Search For Carrier button.

2.3 Choose the Password for encryption (type the password and then retype it to confirm) and the Encryption Algorithm. If you do not want to encrypt the file before hiding, check Skip Encryption/Hide Only. Click Next when you are done.

2.4 Choose the path and the name for the new file - the new carrier file witch will contain the hidden files.

2.5 Click Hide button to start the hiding process.


Unhide Files:

  • There are 2 methods to unhide a hidden file using Invisible Secrets.
  • Method 1:

1.1 Open Invisible Secrets.

1.2 Select Unhide Files from the main page.

1.3 Select the carrier from which you want to unhide. Click Next button when you are done.

1.4 Enter the carrier access password , select the decryption algorithm and click Next.

1.5 Choose the destination folder - where you want to put the unhidden data. Check the files you want to unhide. You can also choose to keep the folder structure of the hidden data.

1.6 Click Next button to start the Unhiding process.

1.7 You are done! Click Finish to close the window.

  • Method 2:

2.1 Right click on the file you want to unhide and from Invisible Secrets menu choose Unhide or Unhide Here (will create a folder with the same name of the carrier and will unhide in it).

2.2 Enter the carrier access password , select the decryption algorithm and click Next.

2.3 Choose the destination folder - where you want to put the unhidden data. Check the files you want to unhide. You can also choose to keep the folder structure of the hidden data.

2.4 Click Next button to start the Unhiding process.


Use the Cryptboard:

  • You can add files to the cryptboard from any shell application: right - click a file and from the Invisible Secrets menu select Add to Cryptboard.
  • To open the Cryptboard, click the tray icon, and select Show Cryptboard.
  • The cryptboard is also accessible from the main program. All functions Invisible Secrets offers operate with files. After you have added several files to the cryptboard you can choose to work with them in all security features from the main Invisible Secrets interface.
  • In the Cryptboard window you can:

1. Remove Files from Cryptboard - click button to remove the selected files.

2. Add files to Cryptboard - click button and then browse the files you want to add to the cryptboard (usually you don't have to add files from the Cryptboard window, but from Windows Explorer)

3. Clear - click the button to remove all the files from Cryptboard

4. Hide - click the button to hide all the files from Cryptboard

5. Encrypt - click the button to encrypt all the files from Cryptboard

6. Decrypt - click the button to decrypt all the files from Cryptboard

7. Shred - click the button to shred all the files from Cryptboard

8. SFD Package - click the button to create a Self Decrypting Package containing all the files from Cryptboard


Create a Self Decrypting Package:
1.1 Open Invisible Secrets.

1.2 Select Self Decrypting Packages from the main page.

1.3 In the Files tab select the files you want to put in the self decrypting package - to do this use Add Files / Add Folders buttons or use Cryptboard button to add files from Cryptboard.

1.4 In the Popup Message tab type the message that you want to add to the package (this message will open after the package is decrypted). The message is optional. Click Next button when you are done.

1.5 Choose a password for the encryption (type it and then retype it to confirm).

1.6 Here you can also choose to save the package to a certain destination, to send it by email, or/and to shred original files when done.

1.7 Click Next button to start encryption process.


Shred Files:

  • To permanently remove files from your computer you have 2 methods:
    • Method 1:

1.1 Open Invisible Secrets.

1.2 Select Shred Files from the main page.

1.3 Select the files and folders you want to shred - to do this use Add Files / Add Folders buttons or/and use Cryptboard button to add files from Cryptboard.

1.4 Click Shred button to start the shredding process.

Method 2:
2.1 In Windows Explorer right click the files and folders you want to shred, and from the Invisible Secrets menu, select Shred.

2.2 A window will open where you can review the files/folder you want to destroy. Click Shred button to start the shredding process.


Destroy my Internet Traces:

1.1 Open Invisible Secrets

1.2 Select Destroy Internet Traces from the main page.

1.3 Select one or more traces you want to destroy. Choose from the following:

1.3.1 Internet Explorer Cache

1.3.2 Internet Explorer Cookies

1.3.3 Recently Typed URLs

1.3.4 Internet Explorer History

1.3.5 Most Recently Used Documents / Applications

1.4 Click Next to destroy traces.


Make an IP to IP password transfer:

1. Open Invisible Secrets

2. Select IP-to-IP Secure Password Transfer from the main page.

3. elect the action for your computer:

3.1 The Receiver (the computer that is going to receive the password).

3.1.1 choose Receive Password.

3.1.2 click Next button to receive the password.

3.2 The Transmitter (the computer that is going to transmit the password).

3.2.1 choose Transmit Password.

3.2.2 type in the IP of the computer that acts as receiver.

3.2.3 type in the password to transmit.

4. click Next button to transmit the password.

Note: this feature might not work properly if you are behind a firewall. Port 10000 must be opened.


Lock an Application:
1. Open Invisible Secrets

2. Select Locked Applications from the main page

3. Type in the password

(Note: If you are using the Lock Application function for the first time, you must set the password for the locker: type in the password and then retype it to confirm.)

4. Click the Lock New Application button

5. From the list of applications choose one application to lock.

6. Select the Lock Options:

6.1 Remove from Start Menu - remove the icon of the application from the Start Menu

6.2 Remove Group - removes the entire application's group of icons from the Start Menu

7. Click the Lock button.


Run a Locked Application:

  • To run a Locked Application you have 3 methods:
    • Method 1:

1.1 Open Invisible Secrets.

1.2 Select Locked Applications from the main page.

1.3 Type in the locker password.

1.4 Double - click an application from the list of locked applications.

Method 2:
2.1 Right - click Invisible Secrets Tray icon.

2.2 Click Run Locked Applications.

2.3 Type in the locker password

2.4 Select the application you want to run (choose from the list of locked applications).

2.5 Click Run button (or double click the application in the list).

Method 3:
3.1 Press your hot-key combination (this combination of keys can be set from the Locker Settings window. By default it is CTRL+ALT+R )

3.2 Type in the password

3.3 Select the application you want to run (choose from the list of locked applications).

3.4 Click Run button (or double click the application in the list).
